EduVOD South Africa is a member of the Power Matla group of companies. The company offers a content delivery solution developed to deliver e-Learning content to schools via satellite or terrestrial broadcast networks.
This level 1 BBBEE company was registered in 2018 formed from the sale of Altech UEC, the owner of the Eduvod™ intellectual property (IP). The new company, Eduvod SA, acquired all IP and assets of the project, as well as all contracts with partners and customers signed with Altech UEC, in order to continue the project and service the needs that the technology can address in improving educational outcomes on the African continent.
The solution is hosted at a TV broadcast or data centre, and manages the receipt, processing and delivery of digital content assets over the broadcast network.

Solly is the non-executive chairman of Power Matla (Pty) Ltd.
Currently, as non-executive chairman at Power Matla (Pty) Ltd, a locally owned black empowered company with investments in various portfolios within the energy and ICT markets, Solly brings a wealth of experience to the board which he gained through the various marketing and executive positions he has held previously.
Previously an executive for Shell, AT&T and ESKOM, he gained valuable knowledge and experience in the various disciplines of strategic marketing and human resources.
Solly holds a B. Com – UNIN, B. Com (Hon) from UNISA, an Advanced Management Programme from Harvard University in the USA, as well as an MBA from Rutgers Business School in the USA. He sits on eight different Boards of Directors and acts as Chairman on three boards. Previously he held board positions in Billion Group, Ariviakom, Eskom Finance Company, South Dunes Coal Terminal, Golang, Eskom Enterprises, Eskom Pension Fund, MEETI and African Tramways.
Currently Solly sits on various other company boards, which include SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA (Pty) Ltd, EduVod and others.
Kgathola is the co-founder of Power Matla (Pty) Ltd.
Currently, as CEO at Power Matla (Pty) Ltd, a locally owned black empowered company with investments in various portfolios within the energy and ICT markets, Kgathola oversees a company which has grown exponentially since its inception in 1999. He has a vast amount of experience which he gained through the various operational, managerial and executive positions he has held previously.
Previously Executive Group Supply Chain Services for Pretoria Portland Cement Company (Pty) Ltd and a former member of the Board of Trustees, PPC Empowerment Deal; Service Delivery Manager for Rio Tinto; Supply Manager for Transnet; Materials Manager for Sasol Synthetic Fuels and Eskom, he gained valuable knowledge and experience in the fields of materials management, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, procurement, ERP system implementation, e-procurement and logistics.
Kgathola holds a B. Com in Business Management and Economics from the former VISTA University, now the University of Pretoria. Currently he sits on various other company boards, which include SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA (Pty) Ltd, EduVod and Dorper Wind Farm.
Sikkie is the Finance Director of Power Matla (Pty) Ltd. Currently, as the Finance Director at Power Matla (Pty) Ltd, a locally owned black empowered company with investments in various portfolios within the energy and ICT markets, Sikkie’s vast amount of experience which he gained through the various managerial and executive positions he has held previously is extremely beneficial to the company.
Currently an independent consultant Sikkie specialises in corporate governance reviews, board appraisals and quality assurance reviews. He also provides strategic advice on financial and tax matters. Previously a partner at KPMG and a director Goboda Corporate Governance Services (Pty) Ltd as well as a senior manager at Ernst and Young he gained valuable knowledge and experience in risk management, internal audit and corporate governance. Other experience gained with Transnet and the Agricultural Development Corporation and Agricultural Bank adds to his wealth of knowledge. He also gives training for directors in performance of board appraisals and corporate governance reviews
Sikkie holds a B. Compt (Hons) in Accounting and Auditing from the University of South Africa, a CIA from the Institute of Internal Auditors, and MBA from the University of Natal, various accounting and secretarial qualifications from CSSA, SAIPA and a Chartered Directors qualification from the Institute of Directors.
He currently sits on various company boards, which include SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA (Pty) Ltd, EduVod, National Regulator for Compulsory Specification, Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa and the Automobile Association of South Africa.
Sophia holds a B.Com in Business Management and Economics , she is the Executive Chairperson and founder of Epiworx . While working she attended a Management Development Programme at Unisa School of Business Leadership.
Sophia commands an extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management at operational and executive level, with seventeen (17) years in various companies including, Eskom, SASOL, Transnet, City Power, Rand Water, Gauteng Department of Finance, Anooraq Resources. She has solid experience in Supply Chain policy and strategy formulation and implementation.
Roshni is currently the CEO of SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA and has a vast amount of experience which she gained through the various operational, managerial and executive positions she has held previously.
She is an experienced business leader with a professional engineering background having over 15 years solid experience and a proven track record in delivering sustainable results, primarily in heavy industries (cement, glass and mining).
She has held numerous executive and senior management positions at PFG Building Glass, PPC and AfriSam. With a solid experience in strategy development and execution, business development and M&A, strong financial and operational management, business performance and strategic turn around programs, project management from conceptual studies to financial structuring to implementation, using highly analytical skills and decisive leadership. Her in-depth understanding of growth opportunities across different industrial sectors, and specialist experience and in-depth knowledge of the African continent, local African market dynamics and unique geographic specific ecosystems is a distinctive advantage.
Roshni has the distinct advantage and specialist technical and commercial skills and experience in developing sustainable and economically feasible energy strategies, supported by robust implementation plans. Her most recent experience was the development of two co-generation projects up to bankable stage and contract signature, as well as feasibility studies on a number of solar and alternative energy projects.
Sibulele is an experienced Executive Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the Energy & utilities industry. Skilled in Operations Management, Power Plants, Contract Management, Project Management, and Energy. She is a strong operations professional graduated from Stellenbosch University.
Paulo is the Managing Director of Eduvod South Africa (Pty) Ltd, a Power Matla Group company. Paulo is an accomplished professional within the ICT industry, with over 15 years’ experience operating at a senior management level in large corporate ICT businesses, and 10 years of experience starting and managing entrepreneurial businesses. He worked for many years in various positions within the Altech Group, both in a technical and business deployment capacity.
Paulo holds a BSc degree in electronic engineering, an MSc in space physics and a Masters degree in business administration (MBA).
